you're right, there is so much more you can get while not multitabling which really helped me add more thought to my game even though i could crush 3-4 table at .5/1 with ABC 2+2 stuff. Makes the game more interesting too when you turn your brain back on .

But would you recommend playing one or two tables? I kind of undecided on this at the moment, but i'd like to hear a more experienced players advice.

Nice post.

I used to do this all the time. When I was only playing 1 or 2 tables I would take notes like this all the time. But now I play 4 tables and its hard to keep notes on everybody. I think this is a great way to get reads on players. Betting patterns will tell you a lot about a player.

I guess now that I haven't been keeping as good of notes I need to get poker tracker (thats right, I do not use it).

Any suggestions for keeping notes on players while playing 4 or more tables? Besides learn to type faster..

yes pokertracker would help a lot.

also by the time you start 4 tabling, hopefully you would have already have a large collection of notes and reads on players. it shouldn't be the case that you fire up 4 tables and you're facing 36 unknowns.

I agree, but I do a lot of bonus whoring, so I am always playing at different sites. On party I do see a lot of the same players, but on other sites I just don't have the notes.
Do you know any successful players not using poker tracker? I know it will help me some, but I'm not convinced that I need it. I'm sure I could be convinced though, if you want to try.

I play 4 tables and still taken plenty of notes. Once you get pokertracker your note taking will become more efficient. I don't need to spend time taking basic preflop notes (unless it's really strange) since PT gives a good guide with VP and PFR%. I focus on postflop notes. Typical flop lines, do they like to slowplay till the turn, river bluffs etc. I also use Playerview which now shows mucked hands, so that helps a lot too.

Wow great post. I've been looking for a post like this for a while now since my reading skills suck.
