Dont know much about villain. Should i have calmed down with the raising and put him on a better hand? Based on how he wasn't pulling anything fancy, i put him on A9. In no way did i see this coming.

looks good, although you might not wanna get so big pots with these hands.
Your opponents played like true money donators but your potcontrol in hand one could have been better, like bet flop instead of C/R. Looks good thou! |

i was thinking that the pots should be smaller too, but isnt it my duty to make sure this fish is getting the worst possible odds to call on these craptacular draws?

second hand looks good to me.
First hand: Why do you do that river bet? With what will he call you? He have to be loose if he raises with A9 UTG. He can have JJ or QQ. I would do a block bet/value bet (sometimes people call with Ace high if the pot is big enough) and if the feeling is wrong, fold at a reraise. |

i was thinking that the pots should be smaller too, but isnt it my duty to make sure this fish is getting the worst possible odds to call on these craptacular draws? [/ QUOTE ] About hand 1: #1) If I'm villain I play JJ/QQ the same way. I wouldn't raise 99/77 but those would be a serious possibility. Therefore you don't even know that the has a "craptacular draw" #2) Making them pay for their draws only works if you don't pay them when they hit. Not SO bad in this case cause he didn't have much left, but something to think about. Since the only "craptacular draw" is that flush draw, then what do you think you're beating on the river. A9 is about it and he's not raising PF with that. Since you put him on that draw, why pay him off when he hits? If you DON"T think he's on a draw then you were dumping extra money in with the worst hand cause not much is raising PF and calling you down that you beat. Therefore: Bet the pot on the flop (or checkraise bigger). 2/3 of pot on turn and then blocking bet on river. You save a bunch of money. |
