I've been doing a lot of reading on the SD forums lately (bought a new desktop this morning, whoo hoo), so I'll answer these questions best as I can. For the straight dope, however, head over there yourself and check it out. Lots of noise, but good info nonetheless.

Anywho, Joe: If you don't have any credit I doubt they'll approve you for DPA. It looked like a few people with decent credit were getting turned down for some reason. That being said, if you aren't worried about your credit score, you might as well try it and find out, right?

Yobz: As for the monitor dropping to $250, someone pointed out that the 2001fp will likely be discontinued before that happens, and that sounds like a good point to me. I'm more anxious for the 2405FPW to go through price drops like the 2001 and 2005 have, how sweet would one of those for ~$500 be?
