Re: making money on the Party Bad Beat tables
[ QUOTE ]
my VP$IP for J8s(and similar hands) wouldn't be 100%... [/ QUOTE ] OMG. You are chasing the jackpot. This is a fundamental error. I was going to say that playing the BBJ tables can be a good idea because the games are sometimes softer and that can easily make up for the extra rake. But one of the reasons the games are softer is people chase the jackpot. If you can't play these tables without worrying about the jackpot then you need to stop playing them. |

For starters don't play 2/4 BBJ. [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, Bonuswhores.com has somehow calculated that above a certain jackpot amount, playing these tables is +EV. Also, the play is probably worse than the normal tables. I still don't play the tables, but i don't think it's always bad to do so. Also, I wanted to chime in that we need to get QTips or CallMeIshmael's posts regarding stats stickied. |

Re: making money on the Party Bad Beat tables
this is the small sample size police. we have you surrounded. come out, with your hands in the air.
(also you play too many hands and don't raise enough before the flop) |

Re: making money on the Party Bad Beat tables

For starters don't play 2/4 BBJ. With a $0.50 jackpot drop on any raked hand you're going to be hit hard by that alone. [/ QUOTE ] I've been playing these tables almost exclusively over the last month or so and can testify that this extra .50 jackpot drop is easily overcome by the softness of the majority of the tables. It's also easier to jump from a good table gone bad to another good table faster as the waiting lists on the good tables are much shorter. |

You don't play the BBJ tables any diferrently. If you hit a BBJ, great, but the point is the extra rake is offset by jackpot fish. Don't be one of those fish. |

[/ QUOTE ] I've lost count of the number of times I've been yelled at for raising pre-flop on the 2/4 BBJ tables. Apparently these players are ok with playing a 63s for one bet PF, but not two bets. I agree that the extra rake is offset by the miserable play. |
