Vancouver currently has the biggest room in the country at River Rock (20 tables). It's new and well run. I was just there. Limit games spread up to 20-40 and several NL tables. They have the beepers to carry around when you are on the waiting list and use a large electronic waiting list board. There are other cardrooms in Vancouver. The best would be the Holiday Inn but lowest limit is a 10-20 Kill game. great action. I do not know Victoria.

I stopped at river rock on my way to whistler for my week of skiing in december and i was very impressed with the room and the casino as a whole. The poker room was probably %95 asians who thought they were men the master so they would try to bluff with any two! the games were very good and it is definetly on my list of the next trip to whistler.

River Rock (Richmond) actually has 25 tables now, which they need because the place is always jammed. Holiday Inn only runs 2 or 3 games usually and Edgewater downtown only has 4-8. Go to Richmond and I would recommend either 4-8 or 20-40 depending on your bankroll. 2-4 rake is killer and the games inbetween 4-8 and 20-40 aren't as soft.

I am spending the first week of May in downtown Vanc and was curious about these rooms as well. Is there 3/6 at River Rock, or does it go straight from 2/4 to 4/8? Also, is the Mandarin worth checking out? Is there still a casino below the Renaissance Harbourside (where I'm staying)? Any idea what they spread? What is the drive time from downtown to Richmond?

so many questions...thanks in advance.

I'm back in six weeks, so thanks for the update. See you at 20-40 although last time there I saw half a dozen Men the Masters blasting cash at a guy in the NL game, so maybe that's a better idea. He had to be up 10 grand and was just stunned by what he was seeeing. "no fold eight...very lucky"
