One caution:
If you host a fairly large home game, and you are using say Luxor 1's as $10 chips and I'm a sneaky lowlife. Next time I'm in Vegas I'll pick up a rack of 1's from the Luxor and bring them to your game to cash in as 10's. To quote another poster - Talk about money for nothing! |

[/ QUOTE ] Good point, but not an issue for me. We play tourney style with a small buy-in. We actually "value" our chips quite high just for kicks: $100, $500, $1000, $5000. |

I had a guy in vegas get me 200 $1 Binions chips for my cash game. I've only had them for a month or so now and have had two people that want to buy them from me. I'm going to vegas in 3 weeks and will bring them with me in case I find something better. Plus if I'm running low, they will be my fail safe bank account.
I like the Binions chips because they were only a week or so old when I got them, not even dirty yet, still somewhat rough edges. I also wanted blue chips so they wouldn't show dirt (suggested). For higher denoms, I found some on ebay and other places on the net, paid a little more than a $1 for those though. Ok since I need mostly $1 chips. |

Better check with Harrah's - They issued a call in for final payment of all Binion's chips. I don't know what the cut off date is. They may become worthless soon.

You don't think that everyone in the tri state area has squirrled away some Horseshoe chips? I live in Virginia and I've got a bunch. They're going to be like the State quarters - face value until 4005

Actually, the Mirage chips clean up nicely. I have a rack that I use in my home game. When my buddy brought them to me, I didnt want to touch them either. Filthy plus some of the blue was all over the inlay. Totally gross. Washed them up and they are very nice.
Accident [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] PS, I also covet my $.25 chips. I wouldnt be screwed hard if someone took any of the others. Face value only in cash games. I only use Oyster chipcos in my tourneys. Paid $.73 a piece and replaceable. Dont know what the new price is. |
