Re: KQo from MP
I dont like your PF raise. Dont like this line at all. You risked almost half your stack in a marginal situation... At this point in the tournement dont make plays wait for favorable situations and get as much money in as possible.

Re: KQo from MP
Read on MP1?
Looks like 475 in the pot on the flop. $350 is probably a tad heavy here for a continuation bet, but not completely indefensible (I look to put in $150-$250 here). If your read has MP1 calling w/ Ax, I MIGHT be worried about A3 A4. Without any other information though, this smells like mid-pair or big cards testing the waters (where he is likely to assume that this flop missed you, but wants to see where you stand vis-a-vis a bigger overpair). Trips/overpair is likely going to CR bigger and FH flat calls on this flop. IMO you have to fold this no matter how distasteful it may be. 6 outs to your cards (either of which are probably dead outs to AK or AQ) with the probability of an A in the villains hand that wins when you both miss is just not where you want to get another T350 (or 25% of your remaining stack) in with a call; another raise or all-in will almost certainly spell the end of you. Ask youself this: Even if your best possible card (Ks) comes on the turn, will you want to put all your money in at that point? |

Re: KQo from MP
If i called and a king came on the turn, I would be willing to put my money in, because i think the most likely holding for villan is a small pocket pair. I wouldn't call the flop hoping for a king though.

Re: KQo from MP
well preflop its pretty much raise or fold... i think raising here is ok... I may lean towards folding but I play pretty tight compaired to others at this point in the tourny. The continuation bet is ok also and of course you have to fold to the raise. Its more a general concept that I have tried to stay away from putting this many chips in with a marginal hand. I dont think its terrible I just may throw that hand away to save it for a more favorable situation. Flop play also depends on the opponent.

Re: KQo from MP
i'd bet 300 instead of 350 on the flop but otherwise i think it's good.

Re: KQo from MP
Similar topic: do you call a pot raise with KQo... what about KQs? and in what position?

Re: KQo from MP
I dont call pot raises with KQ or KQs, only consider it when its a very loose raiser or a possible blind steal (and then a raise may still be better than call). You will be outkicked by AK or AQ just too often and is a dangerous play.
