Yes, I used my PO box for PP, UB, Neteller, and Firepay. Get at least a 12 x 12 though, because that's where they'll send the free hat, jacket, etc., and it's a pain to stand in line to get the post office to retrieve it.

Interestingly, the post office gave me a major hassle when I set up the PO box, evidently for "security reasons" they need you to have a local street address. Duh, if I had that I wouldn't be driving all the way to a PO box to get my mail, would I? (I was moving from another state and still house-hunting) After three visits I convinced them to use my local work address.

The whole "local address" thing has been in the USPS for years. If you need a more B&M looking address you can get a mailboxes, etc. box. Other shipping/office supply places do it too. then you get an address like

123 Maple Lane
Suite 244
Somewhere, USA 11111

the "suite" is your box number. Another nice thing about them is that they will accept fedex and UPS for you, which the post office won't.

Well, I got the PO box w/ mailboxes. However, I went to Bank of America and M&T and they require a local address...

When I try to open my bank account with BOA or whomever, instead of typing
of using PO box do you think I'd be able to trick them into thinking my suite # is actually my 'local address'

This way I won't have to provide the banks with a physical street address?

You might need a driver's license with that address on it if you're opening a ban account.

Use of the "Suite xxx" is illegal. About five years ago Congress tried to force all private mail box holders to use "PMB xxx" (for Private Mail Box) but after an avalanche of protest they allowed "# xxx" instead. However, "Suite xxx" is specifically prohibited since people use it in an attempt to make it look like they actually have an office there. If you use "Suite xxx" on a private mail box address it will be automatically changed by most zip-code correction software to either "# xxx" or "PMB xxx" since all legal private mail box places are flagged as such in the USPS address database.
