Default Data mining - is it ethical?

Maybe this has been discussed before. I searched for it and came up empty, though with the sucky search feature here that's no surprise.

Just curious about people's thoughts on the subject.

This has been discussed ad nauseum, I suspect too long ago to appear in a search though.

Anyone thinking it is unethical, can you answer me whether you think using pokertracker at all is also unethical.

I think it's perfectly ethical. There's nothing stopping a person from going and watching at a B+M game if they want to in order to scout it out. In essence datamining is doing the same thing. My friend pointed out, yeah but you can't scout out multiple tables at a B+M. Of course my response, was twofold A. Sure you can, you can't watch as closely but your eyes can float around and B. You can't play multiple tables at a B+M either, Either way, I see no ethical problem with it.
Good luck,
Matt
