Default The new SH weak links...

Open for discussion:

I've heard a lot of chatter about people in my game (Party 5/10 6max) who have LAGish stats, but play pretty decent PF.

However, the phenomenom which has me most curious is the TAGish preflop guys who can't play for sheeit PF. Am I the only one that notices this? If it's a reality, does it come from half assed study of books and forums?

It's just the default style of play for beginners that are trying to play well. Assuming they have at least some poker knowledge, anyways.

As noted poker authority Ed Miller has pointed out, it's fairly easy to learn correct preflop play - postflop is another matter. They have probably read a book or two but don't have much experience. Not everyone starts at micro limits and grinds their way up.
