There are several hands here I'm raising and this is one of them. Depending on how weak UTG+2 is post flop and if he'll fit or fold on the flop I'm raising quite a bit.

[ QUOTE ] 1) Never fold. 2) Raise 80% and call 20%, depending on my table image. There are times where I've raised 50% of the hands over the last 3 orbits and it'd be better to call here because I'm starting to get played back at too much. Rob [/ QUOTE ] I agreee completely. The conditions here are textbook perfect for a pf 3-bet with a PP. One limper in front who has a nearly random hand, and a bunch of tighties behind who make it very likely that a 3-bet here by you will get you HU against the loosie. Raise here unless there's an excellent reason not to. [/ QUOTE ] psst, you're just raising, not 3 betting. |

I think I would probably just limp in this, wait until the flop to start betting depending on how the cards lie. Might raise, depending on the players and how I'm playing.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] According to reads it seems to me like a raise to isolate this player would be in order. However, I personally wouldn't do it because I don't trust my postflop skills, and I hate my HU ability. I would probably limp in and then bet the flop if it's checked to me. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, you have a huge advatge over random hands, or even a hand like A5o. After you get it HU you should bet most flops. If you get called with overcards then you can use yr position to limit how much you loose. You might think you suck postflop, but you don't suck THAT bad... trust me. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah you're right I think. Playing mid to low pocket pairs is something I need to work on. I think if I had raised pf and made it HU, I would have bet the flop, bet the turn, and checked behind on the river. This is assuming a board which isn't immediatly interesting. |

Grunching this could be nasty as I just glanced down the list of people who have responded. Oh well....
Usually raise to isolate the clueless player and hopefully get it heads up. Sometimes limp, depending on my table image and how aggressive those guys are behind me. I don't fold this though. |

raise to get it HU with UTG+2. If the tighties call or raises, call for one more bet, fold for two.

[ QUOTE ]
You are in the hijack seat and are dealt 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG+2, a very loose, fairly passive, and pretty much clueless recreational player, open limps. Folded to you. CO, button, and both blinds are all tight. [/ QUOTE ] Call and hope for more callers. I don't think 66 is a good stealing hand. It's a little too low, you have four players yet to act, they will be less likely to fold because the weak limper is already in, and the limper won't fold. 66 will be hard to play aggresively if you don't make a set and there are overcards on the board, and there are a lot of overcards to 6. |

(Grunching as requested)
Raise PF. Bet the flop. Bet the turn. Take the cheap showdown. The board almost doesn't matter. Edit after reading the thread: My proposed line is what I'm hoping for. If my isolation attempt fails, if the flop is especially scary, or if I run into aggression obviously I'm going to have to reevaluate. |

[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Raise. Evaluate if raised from behind. Call a 3-bet, fold a cap.

I like raising, so long as he doesn't bluff. If you can toss this POST flop whenever he's beating you (and since he's passive this is easier) and he folds / draws to overs against you you're in +EVville, population you.
