7 card stud on LV strip?
Two younger brothers, my dad and I will be going to LV June 15-19. Just curious which room on the strip would most consistently have a 1-5 stud game going, as this is our father's favorite game. We'd like to book a room nearby.
I looked at allvegaspoker.com and have not seen a stud game going in several of the rooms that supposedly spread a stud game. Thanks, Ethan |

Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay. Both very nice rooms.

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
Mandalay RARELY has stud. It's all 4/8 and 2/4 NL.
Excalibur has a 1-5 stud game from time to time. Sam's Town isn't on the strip but it usually has a 2/4 stud game. Mirage has a 10/20 stud I think. Bellagio also has a 30/60. Thats pretty much it. |

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
Stud really is pretty much dead in LV.
The best low limit stud game in town is the sam's town 2-4 with a 25c ante. The ante and structure make it the best game in town for low limit stud (1-5 no ante stud SUX AZZ, ROCK FEST CITY). Sam's aint exactly on the strip tho. I have OCCASIONALLY seen stud at excalibur (1-5) and once so far saw a 2-10 stud going at MGM. Even mirage OCCASIONALLY spreads stud, but it will surely be full of octagenarian rocks waiting to die. The OP's father is just going to have to do what the rest of us have already done, play friggin' hold'em or go back to pinochle and cribbage. al |

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
Thanks very much for your prompt responses. I too have never seen a stud game going at Mandalay after several visits.
I agree Al, I did buy him SSHE for XMas. He is a flexible guy and will play whatever, but I figured he would enjoy playing at least a little stud. He is from Mass. and is a little spoiled (at least with game choices) by Foxwoods. We will have a car, so we'll take a field trip to Sam's Town if necessary. Im footing the bill for the hotel, so I think we'll stay at the San Remo ($36 wed, thurs and $77 weekend) and check out Excal for stud. Thanks, Ethan |

the monte carlo has a stud game going every once in a while. you might try that out if you are going to be at san remo so you won't have to drive. i guess you should check out excalibur too.

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
As is always the case, you are getting spendid advice from Mr. Capone. I too have noticed the rapid disappearance of stud and the large-scale increase in NL. The one stud game that was running every day was the low-limit at Monte Carlo and I only mention it because one of the hottest poker babes in the USA played that game every day for a week. She was beating the living daylights out of the tourists and smiling all the time. Young, blonde and way too good looking for that crowd.

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
Last time I was in Vegas (last summer) the Mirage ran a 1/5 stud game with .50 antes.

Re: 7 card stud on LV strip?
Not quite "on the strip", but Gold Coast claims to regularly spread a 7 card stud game. Every time I have been there a stud game has been going, so they must get some action there.
