Re: A massive overbet...
If its a bluff, its a huge mistake. On the pot/stack size, if villian thinks he has the worst hand and will not win a showdown, the all in bluff here has to succeed about 90% of the time to make money. Materially more than 10% of players will call with their big pair here, so all in with anything less than a lock hand is a mistake here.

villian's bet smells like 5X with no [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] to me.

Re: A massive overbet...
My advice is:
1. Do your homework and have reads on the players you play against. 2. Bet the flop 3. Since you didn't do 1 or 2 and it's middle stakes, fold. |

Re: A massive overbet...
So our opponent has a middle pair and wants:
1. to bluff hero who supposedly has overcards, on the turn when the Q comes? 2. force hero to fold his six outer And an unknown opponent is going to do this 90% of the time (to make calling here correct)? |

Re: A massive overbet...
What does an unknown put hero on when he raises pf and checks a little flop? When a Q comes on the turn what sorts of hands is the opponent going to push in with?
FWIW, I don't get cute with overpairs without a read on my opponent, especially when you have one of the best flops imaginable for a big overpair. |

Not a perfect world
i am not advocating calling or folding but i hate how people who think its an easy fold do so because it is "impossible" that the villian is on a bluff because it has to work 90% of the time. to assume the villian has perfect rationality heavily flaws an individual's analysis of hands.
