hand that just didn\'t sit well...maybe standard, i just dunno...
fish limps UTG.
i raise AhKd. VERY good playing large stacked individual who i know from every site i've played on and who definately doesn't know me 3bets. i've been raising this fish pretty often and he beat me in a blind battle earlier and another one we split when i rivered the case 9. i had T9s he had Q9s. so he 3bets fish calls i cap. flop is Jd5d3d. i checkraise him catchin the fish for 1 bet, he then 3 bets i call. turn is 2d. i check he bets i call. river is Jx. i bet he calls. comments? -Barron |

Sup Barron. [ QUOTE ] fish limps UTG. [/ QUOTE ] I like this game already. [ QUOTE ] i raise AhKd. VERY good playing large stacked individual who i know from every site i've played on and who definately doesn't know me 3bets. [/ QUOTE ] Ugh. Normally Id give that some merit but with it looking like you are iso raising the fish, i'd knock his three bet down a couple pegs. [ QUOTE ] so he 3bets fish calls i cap. [/ QUOTE ] Wicked standard for me here as well. I dunno if that's good or bad though. [ QUOTE ] flop is Jd5d3d. i checkraise him catchin the fish for 1 bet, he then 3 bets i call. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, looks good here. I take it the fish folded right? [ QUOTE ] turn is 2d. i check he bets i call. [/ QUOTE ] heres where I would have checkraised his sorry ass again. If he has QQ w/diamond can he find a fold? [ QUOTE ] river is Jx. i bet he calls. [/ QUOTE ] Beings that you didn't checkraise the turn a bet is super mandantory here. Your line here might just make more money than checkraising the turn would though, if he's capable of folding. I would still probably check raise the turn. Line seems reasonable though. |

Looks good to me. With the fish in the hand, the pre-flop cap is easy, I think. I see bunky likes a turn check-raise but I don't. Since you've been aggressor the whole time, the villain may call you down with a mediocre diamond (QQ/JJ) or even no diamond at all whereas a check-raise gives him a chance to lay down his hand.

[ QUOTE ] w/ AdQx ... he called the river. -Barron [/ QUOTE ] He put you on quads??? I thought you said he was good. [/ QUOTE ] he was good. that call was expert b/c he knows me. EDIT: just to clarify, the call is expert because its clear we both have big hands because of the previous street's action. now if i hold the Kd (which i do) and he raises, guess what?? i fold, and he wins nothing extra than the same bet. but given my action, i could hold JJ very easily. and the rare (mathematical) times that i do hold JJ, he has to pay 2 bets with 0 upside of winning more. -Barron |

Re: Results:
Just by your aggression, and especially capping pf, what hand can he put you on that he beats? AQs for a tie is the only hand he might put you on, in which case he's going for a split. If you were simply picking on the fish with anything weaker it's unlikely that you would have been pounding around with a respectable player on the flop, right?
Maybe because he doesn't know you and might automatically think you're just another party agro donk, but assuming he respected your play, what could he beat? Or is he just calling based on pot-size. I figured he'd end up with QxQd based on what seemed like it could only be a crying river call. |
