Ethical Question
So I'm playing a heads-up sit-n-go and the other guy disconnects. I call as fast as I can (even if I just call in the SB he auto-mucks) to win as many blinds as I can before he gets back. Unethical?
Also, I take it a step further, if I get a premium hand (AA-TT, AK, AQ) in the SB I will wait as long as I possibly can before acting in the hopes that he happens to re-connect during this time so that as soon as he re-connects I raise to make it look like I was just trying to steal his blind while he was disconnected. Unethical? |

Re: Ethical Question
No and no.
Lost connections are one of the risks we all take when playing online, so it sucks to be him but you're doing nothing wrong. If you were somehow interfering with his connection, that would be unethical, but grabbing the initiative when he's down is fine. Similarly, in a live tournament, when a player leaves the table, his blinds are still posted and if he doesn't make it back in time, he loses there too. Also, play all hands as quickly as possible (even AA). |
