set at NL$50
Did I play this too weakly? Perhaps a raise on the turn would have helped me find out where I was in the hand?

Re: set at NL$50
A raise anywhere would have been appropriate.

Re: set at NL$50
The reason I play small pocket pairs is to flop a set. You did that here, in an unraised multiway pot, so there is a wide range of hands you can be up against. UTG leads out on a raggy flop, which I see happen often with over cards/overpair. I think you need to raise here to 1) Shut out flush possibilities 2) find out if someone else flopped a set with you. With 3 people behind you and a somewhat well coordinated board, you don't want people drawing cheaply.
I think a raise on the turn is in order, as only 6-9 has improved. No more diamond draws. Finally, I don't think I fold the river unless you are really worried about having to act before MP3 and you suspect he connected on a straight draw. A raise on any street here will thin the field and give you a much better feel for whether UTG is a) made b) drawing c) trying to pick up the pot because he thinks he's up against some calling stations that will fold if the board gets scary. You're only going to make a set 1/8 times you start with a PP. Make sure that when you connect you make some profit so that you can pay for all those times you won't connect. |

Re: set at NL$50
raise the flop, its the only play. and raise big.
since u missed the flop raise, raise the turn, also big. on the river, fold is probably best, although callin cannot be a terrible mistake. |
