Dont stay at the Ascot in AC
Is something I should have told everyone a long time ago when I stayed there. Good location though.

Check in, walked into room, turned around and walked out. Oh ya, no refunds, so forget about asking. BTW I think the crack pipe is a standard feature, kind of like the sewing kit.

I didn't know. I've never even seen the place. I hope no one was hurt.

Balcony at Atlantic City motel collapses By Jacqueline L. Urgo INQUIRER STAFF WRITER ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - A portion of a second-story balcony collapsed at the Ascot Motel early this morning, leaving more than two dozen guests stranded. No injuries were reported among guests in the 1950s era motel's 53 occupied rooms on the first and second floors. Firefighters using ladders helped guests on the second story reach the ground when they were evacuated after the 6 a.m. collapse. "It was scary, you looked down and there was nowhere to go," said Eliza Bowen, 47, who was staying in one of the second-story rooms several doors from where the collapse occurred. "We heard a big boom and we ran to see what it was." Atlantic City does not make routine inspections of buildings such as the Ascot, located at Pacific and Iowa Avenues, said Stephen Frame, a construction code official for the city. Frame said once buildings receive a certificate of occupancy after being built or renovated, structural inspections are not conducted. Officials have closed the motel pending repairs, Frame said. |
