Default My first 6max hand post - 88

Let me have it...

Villain is looking like a TAG.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 4 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, UTG checks.

River: (4.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets...</font> (planning to payoff)

Preflop and flop look good, however I hate the turn check and river plan. My plan would be to bet the turn and plan on folding to a raise. On the river I probably check-call hoping to induce a bluff from TAG as I don't think I'm getting called with a weaker hand by TAG in this spot.

Yeah looking back, I think bet/folding the turn is way better.

What about with no reads? I think that must have been the case at the time...Can you bet/payoff on the turn given the random laggy-ness of the format?

Bet-fold is the best usually, unless villain is able to bluff raise with a flush/str8draw.. You need reads to call the raise. Againt unknown it's a fold.

I don't like bet/folding the turn when you have a gutshot + 2 set outs. You will have the odds to call the turn and fold the river UI.

The turn play i am not sure about, i kinda like the check. But if he bets then you sure induced him too so i am not sure what the correct line is. In his place i would represent the ace no matter if you checks or bets the turn and raise it up but since he didnt good check.

I dont like the river bet, is this a value bet? Why not check and let him make a stab.

Bet call the turn, fold the river. If called on turn, you can bet or check call the river. The way you played it, I hate the bet-call on the river. Check call instead.

I agree with the call turn and fold river unimproved. Must have discounted the straight outs. If you bet turn and get raised the pot would be 7.5BB so 4 straight outs and 2 set out turn this into a call for me plus the possibility that TAG is bluffing outright, although the chances of that are slim IMO.

Yeah it seems as though I played this hand like shite.

I'm quite sure I didn't know he was a tag at the time, I just looked back in PT.

Yes, the river bet was a value bet.

I've got a lot to learn.

Thanks for the help.
