Trips against preflop raiser
Live 1/2 game in NYC club. I have ~$700 behind in MP. Button, who is a good, solid player, has me covered. UTG straddles to $5, two callers. I call with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Button raises to $20. Two other callers - I call. (Button and I both had deep stacks, so I figured I was getting enough implied odds).
Flop comes J-9-9 rainbow. Checked to me, I bet $25, button raises to $75, all others fold. I reraise to $150 , button calls. Turn is an 8, suit unimportant. I lead out for $150. Button then asks to see how much I have left, thinks for about 45 seconds, and goes all in. I felt that there was virtually no chance that the button would raise with any hand containing a nine, so I was not concerned about my kicker. In my mind, the only hand that button might play this way that had me beat was JJ. What would the best move be here? |
