Re: Flush draw against a maniac
If he's a true maniac, you call the river with A high.

Re: Flush draw against a maniac
Against a typical player I would not like a flop bet (since a typical player would only raise a better hand). But against a maniac, a flop bet looks okay since he will raise something like Kx or Qx on the flop. When it gets down to HU, you HAVE to call the river since he can have just about anything.

Re: Flush draw against a maniac
It depends, by betting into him, you might clean up your Ace outs, but if you wanted to get the best odds on your flush draw, you might try and checkraise the flop instead.
As bernie said, if its headsup, and he is a true maniac, you are calling with Ace high. |

I agree, either line is ok, but you just want to think about how you are approaching the hand before you decide whether to bet out or checkraise.

Thanks for the good feedback guys.
Really helped. Good to know I had similar thinking, well except for the river. Cheers |

Re: Flush draw against a maniac
I don't like betting in to him, because he is likely to raise you and make it heads up or make you have to call to bets cold on the turn or the flop if someone in between has a monster. If you get it heads up you cant have him dominated and if your not beat hes easily drawing to a better hand. I like to check flop and possibly raising if you trap 2 players in between or just check call your draw. I would also pobbile bet into him on the turn after a check call if i think hes weak and that i want to isolate him.
