state income tax question
there's always a chorus of people warning of the dangers of playing fast and loose with the IRS. What about the Calif State Franchise Tax Board? What if you moved away in the middle of the year, your income is taxable, and you're never going back. (Hypothetically. (I can dream, right?)) Can Cali do anything to you if you laugh and thumb your nose at them?

[/ QUOTE ] I suppose they can extradite you from Nevada or wherever you moved to if they're going to charge you with felony tax evasion, just like if you'd robbed a liquor store before moving. But perhaps I'm wrong... |

Re: state income tax question
They can (and will) file a tax lien against you. This will remain on your credit report for 7 years AFTER you pay it.
