Default What is Pot Equity?

Can somebody explain to me what pot equity is and what it's used for? Is it similar to pot odds?

Default Re: What is Pot Equity?

Pot equity and pot odds go hand in hand. Pot equity essentially turns pot odds into percentages.

For example say you have a 1/4 chance of making a nut hand. You have 25% pot equity. In other words 25% of the pot is yours. You will need at least 1/4 implied pot odds to continue to draw in this situation.
