Re: hotel recommendations for WSOP?
Hey-
I think the goldcoast is the closest/cheapest hotel to the RIO. After that the Palms is the closest but surely not the cheapest but it is nice and there will be a lot of good looking young people there. After that you are simply looking at the Bellagio and Ceasars on the corner of the strip and then the Barbary coast is on the other side of the strip if you can find something cheap there. |

[ QUOTE ] Thanks a lot for the tips. I called the Harrahs, they only let me stay for 28 nights. Hotel policy. Thats actually long compared to the other hotels on the strip, they have a max stay of 10-14 nights. How weird. Anyway, thanks again. I am still looking but got a bit closer... Erd. [/ QUOTE ] The problem with long time stays is that they become landlord/tenant relationships. Then they have to go to court and evict you as opposed to just cancelling your reservation. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know about any legal landlord/tenant thingy. But, I've read about casino research which indicates anybody staying for more than two weeks seriously cuts back on their gambling. Basically, if they're there for that long, they aren't looking to gamble regularly. The casinos don't like that. |

Re: hotel recommendations for WSOP?
The Gold Coast web site currently indicates they have availability every day during the WSOP except one, July 14. Click on "rate calendar" at the following page:

Re: hotel recommendations for WSOP?
I'm going to to be playing in the main event and I booked 9 nights at the Gold Coast a few days back.
The rooms are cheap (< $50 a night), and it is situated right next door to the Rio. I'm pretty sure there's still rooms available if you go to vegas.com. The hotel is middle of the road, a local favorite though. I used to go there with my cousin when I was a kid because they have a bowling alley. On top of all this, they have $2 craps for chronic gamblers like myself. |

found a place
Hi all,
thanks so much for all the tips. It does help a lot, especially cause I am trying to plan this from Germany. And just when I thought I have it figured out (was at the WSOP last year) the move the whole thing to a part of town where I've never been! Talk about a bad beat ! I found a place now, though. I am staying at the Extendedstay Valley View, an appartement hotel kind of thing, for the whole 6 weeks I am there. Just walking distance from the Rio, I was assured. Thanks again for all the tips. I am looking forward to seeing many 2+2ers there... Regards, Erd. |

Re: hotel recommendations for WSOP?
Gold Coast is a pedway from Rio, very economical, and very servicable. It's the best place to stay there for your buck that's convenient and well accomodating.
I would think that they're booked for the WSOPME week by now, though because of that. |

Re: hotel recommendations for WSOP?
Gold Coast + Round trip airfare for 2 for 6 days (I will extend it if I am still in) = $1054.. I think that is a super price.

Oh well, I stole his idea of qualifying in a freeroll. Edit: If I need to worry about finding a place to stay for the last two days at Binions, well, that would be the least of my concerns. |
