Poker \"Props\"
I am thinking about becoming a Poker "Prop". Are there any props out there? How is it? I am just asking this in general and I am not referring to any specific sites.

Re: Poker \"Props\"
I have been propping almost a year now. It is pretty good if you can play shorthanded. I am making quite a bit more than I could dealing, so I am propping. Did you have any specific questions? You can PM me if you like if you didn't want to ask them in an open forum.

Re: Poker \"Props\"
I know it's different everywhere and I'm not claiming to be an expert, but it always comes across to me that the props usually aren't too happy with their situation. They can't pick the games they play in, they get pulled from them with little to no notice and little time in the game, and they end up sitting around a lot doing nothing but learning new chip tricks and reading whatever poker magazine for the 2943769647349687th time. They end up playing a lot of shorthanded games - whether that's good or bad is up to you. Many times, they're putting their time in before the room makes them dealers.
Propping poker is not the same as playing poker. That said, I have run into a few who seem to enjoy it. I guess they don't have anything better to do with their time. |

Re: Poker \"Props\"
Here is an article I wrote about propping a while back for Casinomeister. I have done it for almost 2 years and it is a cash cow if you find the right room. It is only really profitable at 3/6+ as 2/4 or below it would normally be better to just bonus whore.
