Re: ok with 99?

[ QUOTE ] Player stuck inbetween. Only draw is flush, which you can't protect against either way. [/ QUOTE ] Do you raise a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] turn if the action gos the same? [/ QUOTE ] First off I prefer to raise the turn here for the reasons Pilop gives. Now if a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] falls on the turn I don't know if I raise it. Not because I fear the flush so much, but because I don't want to lose the other players. Note the pot is not grand so should I burn myself by letting weak hands continue I won't be happy but it's not a disaster either. EDIT: Wait I need to think a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] turn through better. I maybe should raise to charge a flush draw and an Ace will still have trouble folding. If I get 3-bet on the turn I still have outs to a FH. Yeah that sounds better... I think I need coffee!! |

Re: ok with 99?
Yeah raise with the club, because now if a K or A of clubs is out there then they are probably going to see a river as well (especially the A). Remember I dont think there is any limit online where ppl let go of flush draws. (odds or not, most of player chase the hell out of them)

Re: ok with 99?
Aside from the debatable preflop limp....
This hand was played perfectly. Notes: * raising the flop is probably the best play here * if the river was 3-bet... you cap it. Adam |

Re: ok with 99?
I think playing this one fast on the flop is the best way to ensure that all opponents continue calling bets to showdown, which is what you want. You might even get 3/4 bets in if SB has two pair or a good kicker, or is one of those types that thinks a flush draw is a favorite heads up.
The possiblity of SB checking the turn is not a reason to raise the flop. The SB always bets the turn here in a Party game. |

Re: ok with 99?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Why wait [for the turn to bet]? [/ QUOTE ] Bets on the turn are twice as big as the ones on the flop. Player stuck inbetween. Only draw is flush, which you can't protect against either way. [/ QUOTE ] When I have a set on a two tone (or straight coordinated) board, I will almost always bet or raise with a set. I want to charge a flush draw as much as possible while I can. A flush draw probably won't bet out on the turn with only two opponents, and I'll get him for another bet there anyway. If the pot is small I might consider waiting, but usually I'll raise. |

On an A high two-tone flop, who knows what the SB bet on the flop, and what turn card will make him check the turn. Maybe he bet a weak hand and being called in a few spots changes what he's going to do. You really don't want to have the turn checked to you and miss bets from the flop. |

Do you raise a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] turn if the action gos the same? [/ QUOTE ] If the action goes the same and SB and UTG check a turn club, I definately bet. If SB or UTG bet out on a turn club, I would just call. |

Re: ok with 99?
like everyone else has been saying raising PF is a good idea here, i would have been tempted to call the flop bet as you gain + 1 BB by this raise. But calling and c/ring the Turn should generate (if everything goes to plan) an extra 2 BB providing u still have UTG in the hand. Then with the 2nd ace the river play should be the same.......
P.S i had £40 on tiger woods to win the Masters |
