empire 10k freerolls today and tomorrow

hi,

i searched and did not find, flame lightly if i missed where this has been discussed already.

empire has two freerolls scheduled this weekend, both with $10k prize pools. having just started to play at empire, i was quite interested to find out if these were regular events, and what the qualifications were to enroll.

i emailed empire support (2 letters from me, 2 letters back from them) but did not learn a great deal. here is the most information-laden quote from my interactions with support:

"The $10,000 Guaranteed Free roll tournament which are scheduled to be held on April 9th and 10th at EmpirePoker.con is only for the selected players on a certain criteriaýs decided by our marketing team.

Our marketing team develops our bonus and promotions to suit our playerýs needs. There will be times here they will just target a certain group of players based on their valuations."

(bunch of 'sic' if you like)

support has been very nice, and fairly prompt in response. however, i still dont really know very much about these events.

are there players here who were invited? does anyone know specifically what their marketing folks are looking for? or whether these events will recur at some point soon? (thus making it more worthwhile for me to play at empire than somewhere else...)

btw, i have not made a depo there in 2 years. maybe that triggers it.

last time i played there was when they sent me one of these and i did not depo then either.

Thanks, but it's too late. My short-stacked AK all-in just fell to an AA (I was burned a hand or 2 earlier when someone hit his hand and I didn't). Sigh....
