AA on double paired board vs TA with strange action.
Villain is TA-A (VPIP 19, PFR 8.2, postflop 3.2/1.2/3)
So his check-call => check/raise action looked very suspicious to me. If he have jack (KJ, AJ) why he didn't bet on flop HU? Why he didn't fold to my bet if he hadn't? What kind of draw he can possibly have to check-call on that board and awake when second J falls? How would you play this hand? Differently? And plese - provide me with hand reads - what hand do you think villain had? Re: AA on double paired board vs TA with strange action.
This looks more like he's playing a small PP, although it's possible he boated up with 55 and slowplayed the flop. I agree that a TAG is likely betting out with a Q or J on the flop.
I play the hand the same way. |

Re: AA on double paired board vs TA with strange action.
If he doesnt have 55, I think he has JT. AJ I think he would be more aggressive with. KJ always possible. But Im thinking JT.
But if he has a set I think the best thing for him to do would be to pop the flop, if he did a lot of people either put him on a pair or flush draw (I think so right?) Either way hes got a whole lotta something he likes. I got with the set of 5s. JT is my second guess. |

So I call the turn raise. Check/call or check/fold the river as if he doesnt have a boat he does now.

Well.. Villain showed KsKc... MHIG
I was totally not understand his way to play it... Is this slowplay or he respect my raises so much or what? |

Re: AA on double paired board vs TA with strange action.
I think he was trying to FPS his monster. Him calling in the BB may be his modus operandi or perhaps he was trying to lure you in. He'll call the flop and then checkraise the turn because your flop bet indicates nothing more than you have two cards.

Re: AA on double paired board vs TA with strange action.
agreed. He was thinking to cr the turn to your Aq AK or AJ. This way you might just call the turn (thinking you are beat but won't lay down AA), he thinks he wins, you think you lose and then both of you are in for a total shock at showdown.

If he have jack (KJ, AJ) why he didn't bet on flop HU? [/ QUOTE ] Does anyone else disagree with this? (it seems not) But, I don't think I would necessarily bet the flop with AJ there. I dont really see what betting accomplishes here, as hero is going to bet nearly 100% of the time, and a raise gives us very little information. |
