This flop for me was a dream flop, and normally would check call flop, check raise turn and lead river. Was this too aggressive? I did put villain on an ace for definate- either AK/AQ so was suprised to get so much $ out of villain here- i guess he wasnt as Tight as i thought. What would be your play here? |

[/ QUOTE ] hard to check/call, check/raise when you're not first to act. i would bet more on the flop. $4 + his $2 + your $2 = $8 so I'd make your flop bet around $8 (a 3/4 pot raise). the turn is a fine card for you and when he bets $1 you should raise to at least $12. he either has a hand or he doesn't and you need to make sure he's not getting odds to call. your raise to $7 gave him odds (pot+implied) to draw to a flush if that's what he had. if you're going to open the betting back up on the river by raising you might as well make it a real raise as well. all in all, your raises need to be a lot bigger on each street, you're giving up value and not charging the draws. other than that it looks good. |

U did fine imo. I don't play 6 handed so I play it differently at a full table. UTG was a fish to call 3 raises with top pair Jack kicker which is nice for you. I just finished a session at full tilt reraised a player (3x his raise)with AA vs his AJ and I had him all-in by the turn after an Ace hit the flop. They keep the bankroll growing.

I think you played it fine. A raise is riskier to lose player. WAiting for trips is the best.
