Default Chickening out on the Trifecta

My opponent seemed to be getting a little leery at the end. Should I have followed through and gone for the trifecta, or was my bet on the end correct? Should I not even have been trying stunts like this on this hand?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Hero calls, 6 folds, Button raises, 1 fold, BB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, Button bets, BB calls, Hero raises, Button 3-bets, BB folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (6.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button calls.

River: (10.75 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

This looks fine to me.

Definitely bet the river like you did. He’ll likely check behind with stuff you beat if given the chance and you’ll miss out on 1BB.

Bet the flop, bet the turn.
I think there's too many draws out there to try and get cute. Giving a free card would be really bad and there's a lot or cards that can fall and kill your action.

When the opportunity presents itself as is the case here, one should always attempt to complete the trifecta on the river. Otherwise it's not really worth posting.

Nice hand.

What hand that raises preflop and 3-bets this flop would want a free card on the turn?

Do you really want a lot of action action on a 4TJQK or 4TQKA board?

I bet/3bet the turn, check-call the river if he caps the turn.
