This is such a NL player's way of looking at this hand.

The turn must be bet for reasons others such as Stox and Steve have given.

i really dont like the turn/river combo.

if you check the turn, call the river and vice versa.

but betting the turn is sooo much better, as steve, stox and others pointed out.

Well, looking back on this hand today, I certainly don't like the turn check for reasons everyone has stated. Lately I've been checking the turn more in situations where I like my hand, don't want to get raised and feel like my hand is reasonably protected. This hand was too vulnerable to check on the turn but I still think the river is pretty close.

I got lucky this time though:
