Default 8\'s first on on button 3handed

Game just went from 5 handed to 3 handed and i'm about to move tables. SB has been very loose 40%ish vpip preflop, but wasn't raising much when game was 5-6 handed.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 3 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero raises, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, Hero calls.

Flop: (7 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: (6.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

I think I'd cap it and then raise the flop and fold to a 3 bet. Check behind on the turn and call one or check behind again on the river. If he stop n go'd the turn I'd fold.

I thought about cappign preflop here, but SB hasn't been raisng much and i wasnt sure if this was a sign of switching gears to a 3 handed aggesion or a premium type hand.

All things equal i agree with you, should've capped preflop.

I don't really see advantages/disadvantages to capping this preflop either way, I would probably cap but I think it's not a big deal just to call. If I called though I would raise the flop a large majority of the time, this being one of them.

You simply have to put in a raise somewhere here against a loose player. The flop is probably a good place for it.

This is a super easy and IMO mandatory PF cap, there is simply no other way to play it.

If you are going to call all the way down because you think your 88 is good enough times on this board against what he might have, then not capping PF should obviously seem like a mistake.

That Q scares the crap out of me, especially given your description of the player. I'd fold once I see the Q on the Turn.
