6 maxers
I'm trying out 6 max tables for a bit and was curious as to how you should treat certain hands.
In position, should I be calling with Ax off? Raising with middle pair? Raise first in with what? OOP, what type of hands are you calling with? Raising with? How should I be treating SCs? I know there's a handful of you diehard 6 maxers out there, let me know what you've found to be profitable. |

[/ QUOTE ] Very broad question. I play exclusively 6 handed NL on party (50 and 100). Some of my humble thoughts: I dont call with AXo. Ill raise it occasionally on the CO and button if im first in. I dont raise the flop with middle pair without a solid read or an accompanying draw I raise first in with hands that are problematic in full rings such as KQo, KJs, AJo, 99, and TT. Middle PPs go up in value because it is easier to isolate them against one opponent with a raise. Calling OOP with anything is still as dangerous as in a ring game with trouble hands. It is read dependent in my book. Still, I call with all PPs when implied odds are there and occasionally with AXs - though it is hard to get enough opponents in a pot to make a flush draw work. Low and middle SCs go way down in value because multiway pots are rarer. In position they can be worth a call in an unraised pot. Big cards (and big SCs) in position win in shorthanded games because you can drive the betting and control pot size. My two cents. |

Re: 6 maxers
The answer to almost all of these questions is that it is pretty table dependent. 6m is a LOT more aggressive than full ring. So you won't be getting very many cheap looks at the flop and big multi-way pots. So SCs go down, broadways go up. Mid PPs go up (you don't have to play them just for set value.) Position is still key, though. I would start out tightish (slightly looser than FR, particuarly in position) and then loosen up as you see how loose your opponents are.

Re: 6 maxers
if the vpip is very high (and won showdowns is <40), especially to your right, then go for it.
If EP rock raises to 4-5X bb, it can be a stacking hand if you hit your ace and kicker. If bets or raises you push with your two pair, but be set weary (QQ, JJ, KK). If you don't pair your kicker by 4th street you will know if you're pair of aces is beating QQ, KK etc. All of the above is no guarantee, be carefull out there! |

Re: 6 maxers
I will generally limp in with Axo in any position.
Just have to be careful to get away when you should. My PT stats show good returns on Axo. |
