Default Question for 6 max players

Below is a post by fimbulwinter. Will this still work with the deeper stacks on party 6 max? Thanks in advance

Been wanting to do this one for a while.

CAVEAT: THIS WORKS FOR ME, IT MAY NOT FOR YOU. THIS ASSUMES YOU'RE EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO PLAY A POSSIBLY DOMINATED SUITED/CONNECTED/PAIRED HAND AND THAT YOU KNOW THE 5/10 RULE AND APPLY IT.

If you're just starting out, play tight. that said, here's about how I played at 25NL, but i did also make some fancypants moves that were habit from the prima games that i won't list here. If i'd have played more like this, i'd probably have done better. also 6max ONLY. pull this full ring and you deserve to lose.

Definitions:

Offsuit Hands:
M: monsters AA,KK
BPP: big pairs QQ,JJ,TT
MPP: medium pairs 99,88,77
SPP: small pairs 66 to 22
BOB: big offsuit broadway AK, AQ
OBC: offsuit broadway connectors KQ, JQ, JT
OBSC: offsuit broadway semiconnectors KJ, QT
OBT: offsuit broadway trash AJ, AT, KT
OC: offsuit connectors 9T to 45
OSC: offsuit semiconnectors J9 to 46
LOT: little offsuit trash 69, 35, 24, 23 etc.

"Sooted" gets an "S" instead of an "O" so QTs is a SBSC etc.

SA: sooooooted aces
SK: sooooooted kings
SCT: sooooooted complete trash (J2s...)
SBB:
SBC:
SBSC:
SBT:
SC:

Actions:

RF: raise or fold to a raise or reraise
CR: call and raise (limp/reraise)
CC: call and call a raise
CF: call and fold to a raise
F: fold

readme:
this is a rough sketch, but even this isn't a good guideline if you treat it robotically. also, i can't stress this enough, that you need to think about the table texture here. no point raising 89s on the button if people will call with JQ and KT and A9. conversely, there's no reason to reraise a maniac who raises your blind when you hold AA/KK. Use this as a suggestion, not as rules.

Yes, a lot of this applies even more to deeper stacked games because you can score bigger and have more room to get away if you utilise superior hand reading skills. Also more room to bluff on later streets if you sense weakness. Also, you might want to PM him to get him to list his 'fancypants' moves from Prima which I'm guessing are going to be things like delayed bluffs, re-raises with SCs, etc. which ONLY apply to deep stacks (which are now featured on Party as well as Prima, of course).

There is NO formula for the 6max tables. You're play will largely depend on the competition, which largly is determined by what time you are playing at.

During the day, tables are tight. During the night, much more aggressive. On the weekends its a zoo.

Im continually troubled by these PT stats questions and "magic formula preflop" questions.

SH if you arent at least a little flexible you are DOA at any decent level.

That's why it is so much easier to win when I am in Israel.
Being 7 hours ahead of East Coast time means that morning for me is middle of the night in the US.
The time when players should be sleeping and not playing.

FWIW this was posted after i played 1400 hands of 25NL trying to get those PP player points to get a baby blue polo to make the girlfriend happy. the context was 25NL, not the bigger games that i was (at the time) playing.

I guess what i'm getting at is that we all have to start somewhere. i started with the starting hands chart in HEFAP. If given the chance now, i believe i'd have done much better having been given a NL starting hands chart, like the one above, than that.

(obviously the above is said with full knowledge that HEFAP is a great book for the game about which it was written, but not the game I applied it to).
