Default Online 100-200 4-handed

Online 100-200 4 handed

Im dealt K-7 suited first to act and raise. Button calls the two cold, Small Blind calls two cold and Big Blind folds. Button is an aware player but he is uncreative, passive, tight and belongs in a full ring game. I've stayed out of his way mostly when he shows aggression and ran him over when he hasn't. Small blind is the star attraction; akward and capricious, he calls down and bluffs frivolously.

Flop

Q-7-6 rainbow (7 small bets)

SB checks, I bet, button raises, SB calls two cold and I call;

Turn

[Q-7-6]-6 2 hearts--I have spades (6.5 big bets)

SB bets, I raise;

Classic. Gives you the best chance to win it all, and you probably won't put much more in this pot. The only issue is your read on the button. Really think you can make him fold a Q here?

How often does button call two cold here preflop? Has he tried to isolate with decent hands (e.g., 88, 99) and failed bcs the SB is anxious to see flops even with 2.5 bets to him?

Without extra info I put the button on something no worse than QJ or so, meaning I don't think he folds here to your turn raise. If you think there's a decent chance button has 88,99,TT,JJ, and would coldcall with those hands, then maybe this makes more sense -- he's much more likely to flee here. But without knowledge that button would coldcall with those hands, I'd be inclined to let it go, as there's a reasonable chance you're not good anyway. Not that I play 100/200 .

Totally depends on previous hands/table dynamics imo. Has the Button noticed you trying to run him over? Like Grisgra says a hand like QJ is most likely. If he's really "aware" he shouldn't be considering a fold here, but only someone playing in the game can know if the time is right.

Another thing to consider is that if you raise and knock Button out and then showdown the winner, that will probably be the last time the Button shows any respect to you.

Awesome player description, unfortunately it fits me rather well.

I am interested in how you think button will adjust his play based on SB's donkishness. Specifically, is button less likely to make this flop raise with, say, KQ just to keep SB in the hand and paying off? (I.e. does not smooth-calling the flop suggest his hand might be a little weak?)

Also, do you fold to a 3-bet?

What site was this? I like your play if your not planning on putting any more money in the pot after the raise.

Button's raise is pretty strong here; he would not slowplay to draw in SB; SB will call anyway.

Button cold calls with high card strength or suited-connectors but he is timid and doesnt isolate me; his range after the flop raise is narrow--I approximate QJ-QT, A7, 66-99, 89, 76. I could go on and on about reads on small blind and button; I tried to include just enough to encourage discussion.

Default Things Fall Apart

Turn

[Q-7-6]-6 2 hearts--I have spades (6.5 big bets)

Small blind bets, I raise, button calls two cold, small blind folds.

River

[Q-7-6]-6-A (11.5 BIG bets)

I check, button checks and shows Queen-Ten to take the pot.
