Default Canadian bank accounts in US funds for IGMPAY

Someone mentioned here that IGMPAY may work for someone who lives in Canada if they set up a bank account in US funds here. Has anyone tried this successfully? I was thinking about trying it just for the chance that it would work and let me get the extra $400-$500 in bonuses from party skins.
Thanks,

Ian

I think the biggest hurdle in doing this would be figuring out the proper routing codes to use.

There is some information here: CAD Currency conversion for PayPal at WebHostingTalk which may be useful.

Here is a snippet from one post:

US Check numbers:

Routing number :: Check Number :: Account Number

xxxxxxxxx :: xxxx :: xxxxxxxxxx

Canadian Check Numbers:

Check Number :: Bank Transit-Institution number :: Account Number

xxx :: xxxxx-xxx :: xxxx-xxx

[/ QUOTE ]

The primary problem is that US bank accounts have a different format for routing codes than Canadian accounts. Most US dollar accounts from a bank in Canada still use the Canadian style routing codes.

In the thread I linked there is mention of a routing code that works with PayPal for a RBC US Dollar account and much discussion related to trying to get a TD US Dollar account working.

Personally I have a TD US Dollar account and can confirm that the routing codes on the cheques are in the Canadian format. I have not tried doing an EFT to/from this account.
