Default Raise this on flop or wait \'till turn?

Villain is 10.5/2.5 after 35 hands. He's weak/tight

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB (Villain) raises, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, CO folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)

I figured that Villain, being a mouse, was betting and overpair, and I wanted his to reraise me so I could call and then raise him on the turn. Since he's a mouse, I should just call this, bringing other people along for the ride, and raise on the turn right?

Turn: (7.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Villain checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Villain calls, MP1 folds.

River: (9.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villain checks, Hero bets, Villain calls.

Final Pot: 11.75 BB

I think your line is good. If he has an overpair you are going to get some action, if he has AK, you aren't going to get as much. If he's weak-tight, we want the bets out of them while we can, he may fold the turn UI.

Raise this on the flop everytime. No-one will put you on 4's full. U have people already committed to the flop, why wouldnt u want to charge them an extra bet?

Ok, thanks for the help. Villain actually had KK, too bad he was weak tight...

IF villian will slow down with an overpair when you raise the flop, but will bet out the turn otherwise, then I think it's okay to call the flop. Your hand is close to a lock to win.
You want someone to catch an expensive second best hand like a flush. On the other hand, a scare card (like a diamond or A) could try up the action, so there's an argument for not slowplaying.
With only 3 players left in the pot I think a slowplay is okay. With 4+ players there's a better chance you'll get on the flop and turn, so raising is better.

try reading and responding to some existing hands. this hand isn't where you make most of your money. i just see you have 12 posts but 5 or 6 topics near the top of the forum. most people feel they learn more from responding to existing topics. give it a try and welcome to the forum.

btw, the hand and hopeful smooth-call of a 3-bet is fine.
