Re: Only Trump has 3/6 (and only on weekdays) n/m
The Trump 6/12 is more of a 2/3rds kill. The one time I played it (a few months ago), it killed to 10/20, not 12/24. It's possible it has changed.

Re: Harrahs East Chicago or Trump Casino? (indiana)
I was in Chicago on business and went to the Trump. I thought that they ran a nice poker room. The staff was efficient and friendly. It was really busy on Friday night ... we called an hour before we got there, and still had to wait to 1.5 hours to play.
I didn't think that it was all that dirty, but the chips were the absolute worst. Seriously ... I tossed in six whites and they kinda bounced and rolled across the table as if they were one big fat chip. I've never washed my hands longer after a poker game than I did this past Friday night. Also, weekend 4-8 game disbanded based on negative feedback, so back to 3-6. My brief review: I think the Trump dealers are fine (seen only a few mistakes, and only one incorrectly pushed pot that I can remember). Drink service ranges from terrible to great, depending on the night (no free liquor or I'd be there every weekend). Comp is so-so at $.50/hr (might go up at the bigger games, don't know) but the choice of food is pretty crappy, esp. if you're vegetarian like me. Yes the chips are dirtier than a monkey's butt, my record is sticking together 11 and lifting by the top one. I hate it, you always look nervous when betting 'cause you're fumbling with the chips. The best part about the Trump: Fish Fry!! 6-12 I could beat in my sleep, in fact the best 6-12 table I ever sat at they said most of the players had moved *down* because 10-20 broke up. In fact I'll probably start playing 10-20 soon. Don't know anything about NL but they do seem to run pretty regularly. |

Re: Harrahs East Chicago or Trump Casino? (indiana)
At Trump they're all $5 max. There's a $1 jackpot drop for the 3/6 and 6/12 also, which makes it worse. As I recall, the 10/20 is 5% to $5 and the others are 10% to $5. Harrah's is similar. NLHE is time based, not raked.
Yes, the chips are filthy. However, that which doesn't kill me makes me stronger. After Trump you can play anywhere with anything. Regards, T |

I found the 6/12 to be fishier. [ QUOTE ] Don't know anything about NL but they do seem to run pretty regularly. [/ QUOTE ] The NL games are also pretty weak with some good players sprinkled in. I've played the $200 max and also the NL game that had before they had the baby NL that didn't have a max buy-in and a very low minimum; that was a great game with tons of shot-takers looking to play "TV poker". I haven't played the "big" NL $400 minimum game, but you'll see lots of the same faces there when it's going. Regards, T |
