Default Uninteresting pocket 3s hand.

my 3rd hand at the table. I sometimes have trouble reconciling "checking with outs" with "betting against probable passive players who need to be charged to draw to shitty overcards".

how did I do here?

personally I wanted to bet the turn, but I took the line that would get me to showdown versus an unknown.

With the paired board I'd bet that turn card every time. Even if he has overs chances are he'll still check the river even if one of them hits. <----too optimistic?

In this tiny pot, checking behind is not terrible.

By the same token, I'm not too scared of folding to a turn raise, even if there's a chance it's a bluff. I bet and fold to turn raise.

I think you should check/fold the turn and check behind on the river when called. You get the cheap showdown, confidence in your fold, and charge for draws.

Is the word in bold correct?

I bet the turn here and check behind on the river unimproved (no 5, 4, or 3).

But you gave him the same BigBet as if you had bet the turn and folded to the raise, right? I guess you get to see his cards, now, but that's not such a bonus.
