Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
My river play seemed debatable to me. I'd like to get other thoughts.

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
Without a read, there's no way I would possibly consider folding this to a 3bet.
But then again...ring-ring. |

Calling is out of the question.
Getting 12-1 on the 3-bet call seems like a good idea. |

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
Not to stray away from the purpose of your post, but would anyone else consider 3-betting this flop for a free turn card?
Anyone consider betting the turn with your huge draw with the intention of betting the river as a pure bluff if a blank falls? |

I don't understand how you could put the SB on a flush that hit. I couldn't fold to a 3-bet.

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
First, I would have 3 bet the flop. If the SB is in, it's for value. If he isn't in you'll probably get a free card (which you got anyway, but by luck).
Second, absolutely raise the river. You made your hand, why be passive? The SB bet out on the flop then checked the turn. He most likly had 2nd pair and hoped to pick up the pot. The BB raise scared him and he checked the turn. The only one showing power, the BB, folds at the river (what the hell did he have?). So you're heads up with a guy that probably has TPWK or 2nd pair and he's trying to steal the pot on a scare card or maybe hit 2-pair. Either way, you've got him far more often than he has a better flush. Raise the river. |

[/ QUOTE ] I think 3 betting the flop would be nutz! 1) You have not overcard outs to even 2nd pair with 3 and 4. 2) In most cases you have a high risk of a cap. 3) Even without a cap you will likely get called and bet out on the turn. 4) with 2 callers, the extra money isn't EV. 5) You probably chase the SB out vs 1 call, so you have gotten no more bets in I would 3 bet the flop is I had some other reasonable draws, even a gut shot or a 2nd pair draw to the Q, or if there already 2 callers in at 2 bets and at least on more likely... I think your flop and turn line are good...IMHO, 3 betting flop is spewing. River, I agree with consensus, raise and call 3bet! |

Raise and reluctantly call a 3-bet.

Re: Folding A Baby Flush To A River 3-bet
I'd probably lay it down on the flop when it's two bets to me....my flush could hit and I could still lose.
But since we've played on... I'd consider a bet on the turn as I've picked up some outs and the BB has slowed way down. On your river I'd raise and call the 3-bet. |
