Well, I have been knock out with QQs more times then I would like to admit. Its usually in the early stages of the tourney when I'm UTG and raise about 5XBB, then get re-raised and finally I re-raise all-in. Most times I'm up against AK or AQ. So, my question is should I just call the re-raise? Should I push my small edge? I don't see folding as an option unless several other have gone all-in behind me. Any info would be of help.

QQ vs AQ is not a small edge. QQ vs AK is a flip...but you're ahead.

QQ overplayed???
Hell half this forum thinks moving in with 77 can be defended....you should be pushing with no regrets... But seriously, getting QQ against AK is fine QQ against AQ is amazing keep pushing those legit edges. |

I agree. If you KNOW you're ahead in this hand. Push. You need to take a few chances early on in the tourney anyway. Taking them with a good hand is ever better. If they draw out, so be it. Move on to the next one

I don't see how anyone can fold AA, KK or QQ on a heads up all in. If your not prepared to push the third best starting hand in hold em maybe you shoudn't play.... Win some lose some, but one on one I can't see how anyone would fold this.

The only time I think this may be incorrect, is in the mid stages of a trny.
100 left you are 5th in chips and raise 4th in chips at your table pushes over top you, something along that line. |

I'm no poker god, so why is this a stupid question? Maybe I missing a higher level concept. [/ QUOTE ] I regret using the phrase "stupid question." Sorry. You answered your own question when you asked it. You're obviously ahead (and often dominating) often enough to make getting your chips into the middle a great idea. Again, sorry for the original verbiage. I was just surprised you would ask a question and answer it at the same time. |
