You're not allowed to gamble because when you're 18, you really don't have a full adult capacity for good judgment.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are allowed to gamble at 18. It's just that some casinos (most, actually) have made it 21 so there's no problems with their liquor license. That's why you can play at Indian Casinos, and other B&M Casinos that are 18+. Party is 18+ as well.

How can something be so backwards....you can go and fight in a war at 18 and yet can't even sit and play poker in a quiet, SAFE environment. sdrawkcaB cigoL if ya ask me.

[/ QUOTE ]

This has been covered a thousand tims before, gambling and fighting in a war are two mutually exclusive things and have no relevance when it comes to age limits. If you feel the gambling age should be lower that's fine but it has nothing to do with war.

Sorry, I couldn't read your post because your avatar prevented me, it's too annoying.

I'd imagine those socialist liberals managed to get this put into law while they still controlled washington. After all its a well known fact that as people get older and more cynical they only care about themselves and hence tend to vote republican. While young people are naive about how the world works and vote democatic. </sarcasm>

Seriously though, its not like people young or old actually pay attention to issues. I have a roommate who voted for Bush because he heard Kerry would only nominate justices who supported abortion rights, and choosing judges based on one issue was wrong. He was utterly dumbfounded when I pointed out Bush would only nominate justices who were against abortion. Maybe we should start our own party. The Poker Party (I'm sure PartyPoker would be a big money donor), our goal would be to only nominate judges that are against gambling restrictions. It might work...

Someone already started that party. They're called libertarians.

No, I don't believe I have, and if i had, I certainly wouldn't complain about the penalty after being caught. I truly wonder if you actually know what hypocritical means after using it to refer to my post which without personal knowledge you would have no way of knowing if it was hypocritical or not. But thanks for the thought.

Lol. Yes, sure, you got to the age you are without ever violating a law. Never jaywalked, never sped, never ran a red light, never hit someone, never failed to declare income on your taxes, never drank beer underage or taken an illegal drug... There's a very low percentage chance that you've lived long enough to post here and have the attitude you do without ever violating a single law. My sample size dealing with people that have a similar attitude to yours is definitely big enough to make the call that it is far more likely that you are a hypocrit than you are simply a fine upstanding citizen that never did anything wrong in his life.
