Default Re: Can anyone compare the new JB Paulsons to the NJ Martini Club?

Looks and feel of chips are subjective. Both are good chips. Get samples and see what you like, it's worth it to spend 20 bucks now for a 1000 dollar investment.

But a couple of facts (at least I think they're facts):

1. Paulsons definitely get dirtier faster than NJ Clays

2. NJ Clays are 9g, Paulsons are 10g - some people like the lighter weight, others absolutely MUST HAVE the exact same weight as casinos (10g in most casinos)

3. Different denoms of NJ Clays can be slightly different thickness. In particular, the $25s seem to be slightly thinner than others. But the difference isn't huge. A stack of 20 may be different by 1/2 chip thickness. (There are pics and discussion of this on the other board).

4. Paulson > NJ Clays in terms of quality control. NJs often have warped chips and warped inlays . (but not too many, maybe 1% of chips or less, unknown if NJ will replace them for you but they might, also lots of discussion about this on the other board).

5. NJs seem more durable than Paulson (but we're likely talking about lasting 2 lifetimes vs 3 lifetimes, I doubt you'd have to replace either set anytime soon).

P.S. For what it's worth, I also think the NJ Clays feel plasticy compared to Paulsons, which to me is most important and which is why I'm getting Paulsons. But do yourself a favor and get samples.
