2-5 NL game. I have around 500 in front of me. UTG+2 I open for 20 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Cutoff and big blind call me. Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Big blind checks, I bet 50, cutoff folds, and big blind check raises to 200. I haven't played with him much and don't have much of a read. As i'm thinking he says "It's gotta suck that I know you have big slick, and you have no idea what I have." So I say (trying to elicit a read) "Well, you either have two pair or a flush draw." He doesn't give off any physical tell, but he shoots back "You forgot the possibility that I could have a set, or that i could have rags." What's you're play at this point? There's 310 in the pot, It's 150 to call, and I have 280 behind after the call.

The general rule of thumb on discerning a tell here is that a talker more often has a made hand than not. Bluffers are more likely to express non-confrontational body language and speech. I'd muck it and ask him to show...say something like "well now you can show me your bluff and put me on tilt."
Mucking is a good play here though. At best you are throwing away 65% favorite, at worst you are drawing virtually dead. |

I like folding as well, saying nice bluff, and if he bluffed he will make sure to show the whole table, if not you know you are beat. Then try again and next time you will trap him with the nuts
