Re: POLL: flop decisions (2 hands)
Hand two I am raising preflop, but I guess that isn't part of the quiz.
Hand 1 I am caliing, there is so much reverse implied odds with no backdoors and such a low top pair that I really want to wait and see what the turn brings and raise then if my equity really increases. I don't want to raise for the freecard because why am I taking a freecard in the firstplace when I can have the best hand. I get a better feel if someone hits something on the turn if I don't raise the flop. When an overcard comes and it is checked to me I will bet but I won't be as sure where I stand. Hand 2 I am three betting on the early street to find where I am. If he caps then I am calling down or folding depending on what happens on the later streets and my read. If he has a strong hand like two pair or a set and then bets into me on the turn when a blank hits I will raise and he will threebet me and I will be mad. |

Re: POLL: flop decisions (2 hands)
I voted call/call without thinking much about either hand.
After seeing the full 88 hand and seeing SB bet the turn, I immediately doubted the flop call. Then, I read all the responses and my doubts were substantiated. It's one of those semi-tough decisions to make on the fly, especially when multitabling. |

Re: POLL: flop decisions (2 hands)
nice thread, these are the types of threads we need more of, honestly if i never saw another AA(or the rest of group1hands) thread again I wouldn't care at all(its always new posters, hell I posted one way back) but there is little knowledge hiding there

Re: POLL: flop decisions (2 hands)
I certainly wouldn't fold in your AA example because even if he has an overpair, I have the supreme overpair and can't get beat by a bigger pair with a draw. However, when I have pocket 8s against multiple players and get check raised with just a 7 on the board and someone else calls, I certainly give it a lot more thought. I need to rethink this a bit.

[/ QUOTE ] You asked me when the last time I got checkraised by a standard (non-aggressive) player that wasn't holding a monster was. I was just showing an example. The guy showed down 98o. If the board were scarier, I might be able to understand a fold, but not on this board. Rob |
