I have kept detailed notes of all of the past tournament in an effort to find leaks or mistakes.

Hey Mike,

Congrats on the finish. Quick questions on taking notes...when do you actually right down your notes? I'm assuming at each break, you right down anything you can remember. Or do you take notes right at the table? I've seen people reading books/magazines at the table, but never writing. Is it legit to take notes during play?

Thanks, congrats again.

Same question here. While reading your post I was thinking, "Damn, how can he remember all those hands? I guess my game is not nearly as good as I thought it was."

While I probably do overrate my game, I'm still curious as to when you take notes. During breaks I barely have time to hit the head and grab a smoke.

Great post Mike. I've played in the $200 Fri night Taj tourney a couple of times. I've had trouble both times with a large number of very loose players, which should be beneficial, but luck wasn't on my side for 4 straight coinflips. Would you say that you see a lot of that at the Taj, at least early on? Trop tourneys were a joke when they were $50 + $50 rebuys.

Or do you take notes right at the table?

Yes. I will usually right down a key hand after it happens. I keep track of the level the blinds and my chip size.

Is it legit to take notes during play?

Yes.

I write various ideas and thoughts I have in my notebook as well as hands I have played and I have seen my opponents play. I constantly write at the table, if I can. When we go sown to 6 handed the action went to quick for me to take notes.

I really wish I could somehow video tape myself playing. I think a person learns a lot from observing oneself, and taking an honest assesment of ones abilities.

Mez,

I think against the less skilled player, the experienced no limit player has a large edge.

I do not mind the loose play, or the countless MIS players ( move in specialists).

Mike,

Great tourney report! It was very intersting to read and congrats on your finish! I have no where near the skill of most of the posters here but enjoy all this valuable info. Did you ever start out at some of the lower buy-in re-buys at the Trop or Borgata? your thoughts on these?

Thanks,

Walt
