I don't think so. a 50/9 is open raising a lot here, at least as far as the 9 tells us anything. how many hands was your read over?

the only bad thing about this against a loose player is you are unlikely to steal the pot if rags flop. and with position a loose player can be frustrating if he is some aggressive.

That's what I do.

He doesn't play well. He has an appropriate PFR, but based solely on VPIP I would wager that he both plays poorly postflop and has a PFR mix of hands that is sub-optimal. I might even venture to say he is more likely to raise Axs type hands, but maybe I'm just rationalizing.

IMO you made the right play against a middle-position openraiser who doesn't play well.

Its a little tough being OOP, but its probably good since you're likely going to outplay this fish HU postflop.

Flattery will get you everywhere. I flopped second pair on a KQxr flop. Bet it down and villain folded the river. Thanks for the comments.

I think its fine. Your goal here is the push the BB out and make it heads up.

I'm pretty sure I've played the same table as you before and you're solid, so I have no doubts that this play will work out for you in the long run.
