Poker in Hawaii?
I'm taking a trip to Hawaii next week and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to play?

There are a few private clubs..but they are 100% illegal with some insane rake..you're in hawaii don't play poker.

Re: Poker in Hawaii?
Only homegames (which are legal) and sketchy clubs that are illegal.
You can check meetup.com for homegames but I suggest you get out on the water and just dream about poker while here. |

Re: Poker in Hawaii?
All good advice so far. To quote my buddy from New York, Fergetaboutit. If you can organize a little four or five-handed home affair, it might be fun. Stay MILES away from the private clubs. Go to Snorkel Bobs, get a full kit and swim with the fishies. Fergetaboutit.

Re: Poker in Hawaii?
I agree with the other posters, it's a vacation treat it as such, relax and have fun, the north shore has some of the best waves in the world this time of year.
Oh and some advice for the airport, when I stayed on Oahu they had a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, it seemed a great deal as there was no mention of money, so we load up all our luggage and 20 or so people pile on and we drive 2 blocks, stop, and the driver tells us its $20 a head or some outragous scam like that. Huge scam... just take a cab and save time and money. |
