Default Too aggressive or bad luck? (PokerStars $6+.50 newbie post)

Background on this hand is that I played very tight early and won only one showdown (quad tens on the flop against a med stack A high flush). I had a horrible run of cards but maintained a decent stack with 3xBB steals. I sensed weakness here, and given that blinds were going to increase the next round, I pushed. My reasoning for this play was that a T1000 bet on the flop would leave me with only 5 BB and too crippled to win 1st place. Was this a moronic bluff or a reasonable play given that I was ITM already?

(You can ignore the fact that I left myself with 185 chips on my push...I miskeyed.)

Thanks in advance for the help!

I probably would have pushed preflop, but checking isn't horrible.

IMHO, a t400 bet on the flop would make them fold just as much as a t1000 bet. Why overbet the pot when you can bet 1/2-2/3 of the pot and pick it up when your opponent doesn't have a pair (which is a lot of the time).

I see no reason to push flop.
