Default 20-40 commerce A7s

i have A7s and raise in the hijack seat after 2 limpers. cutoff, who has appeared weak tight (by LA standards at least) in the last couple hours, cold calls. the cutoff has appeared a bit irritated when several times he has 4 chips in hands ready to call and ive raised in front of him and he's folded snarling a little, like im keeping him from playing the hands he wants to by raising so much preflop. button fish cold calls. blinds call, limpers call.

the flop is J66 w/ one of my suit. checked to me and i decide to bet. cutoff calls and bb mega fish calls. 3 of us.

the turn is an A rainbow. checked to me and i bet, cutoff hollers out RAISE and almost slams his chips down to make it 80. bb autocalls. i muck.

comments?

i think there's always merit for betting a flop like that with a weak-tighty on your left (and all that is left of you) combined with the other obvious ones. But thats just my 2 cts.

(edit : damn i had just told myself 3 days ago not to post in the Mid- Highstakes forum anymore, o well from now on okay )

(edit2 : o crap, now i see button also coldcalled preflop. To anyone wondering to a why on the first edit, i guess it just has been answered )

If you'v been raising so much and it seems like he's noticing andg etting irritated...even though he's a weaky, I think he 3 bets AQ. He could have AJ but I think he raises the flop with that. AT or some smaller suited ace makes the most sense. I probably call him down but that's me...but I think you and I would have a different image at the table. His raise sounds so strong which might be a tell and then again it might be a reverse tell, I dunno. I do call him down, though to find what this guy is up to. Paying for information and you might even have the best hand.

"even though he's a weaky, I think he 3 bets AQ.'

no. im approaching 100% on theory that he would not have done this.

"then again it might be a reverse tell, I dunno."

again no. he did not seem even remotely capable of this sort of thinking.

"I do call him down, though to find what this guy is up to.'

what about the bb coldcalling without any hesitation on the turn w/ virtually no possible draws. you made no mention of him. it was the parlay of all the players involved and everything that went down that convinced me to muck.

Mucking is starting to sound better.

My bad, mike. In my innitial reading i saw the word muck and missed the bb autocalls part. I like your muck a lot better now. Now you're hoping for a chop or a 3 way chop. Yuck, especially combined with the fact that AQ is a cold call for the weaky and you could be drawing very very thin.

So yeah, I like your muck now. Good hand. Sorry for the confusion.

i doubt gabe laughed after this one...cried is more like it...a heavy sigh at the minimum....

hate the preflop raise in this spot...why not slow down here for a change and just limp along preflop? after two limpers? you have a hand that wants a cheap flop, not voluntarily raised by you with at least one opponent to your immediate left ready to play back at you any time now...

since you did raise the flop, i guess you have to bet the flop, oh well what the hell, you have a backdoor flush draw on a paired flop with many coldcallers everywhere, always a great spot to be in...

the turn...check it homey...
