Default Re: WSOP Chips

It's very confusing. There are actually FOUR chips that are associated with WSOP.

1. The real chips used at most WSOP events, like the chips pictured in the first post above by megabit. Those are real Bud Jones casino/tournament chips, decal B size. They are not sold to consumers** (dammit!). A few WSOP venues have used different chips in the past.

2. The Chipco WSOP-lookalikes, described in the last few posts above. These are a great quality ceramic chip made to look like the WSOP tournament chips: http://www.cardroomsupply.com/chtpoch.html Somebody on the THP forum designed them (xlhrider & leetpants, I think) and lweber (cardroomsupply.com) put together the group buy and got these made.

3. Official WSOP composite chips, like at the top of the WSOP page http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/
Reviewed here: http://www.pokerchipreviews.com/injection.html (scroll down). But I can't find them for sale anywhere except eBay -- maybe they're sold in person at the events. If someone else knows where to buy them online, let us know. If you look at the "Store" on the WSOP page, you can't buy these chips, but you get offered the chips shown below (#4).

4. Official WSOP chip sets for sale: http://www.shopwsop.com/ OR http://www.excaliburelectronics.net/...gory_Code=WSOP (page 2)
But these are really just more inexpensive 11.5g Chinese dice/suits chips.

** The closest things you'll ever find to the WSOP tourney chips are the actual chips used at Canterbury Casino in Minnesota: http://www.chipguide.com/cgi-bin/sea....cgi?id=mnshcc but only at lower denominations.
